When the Subconscious Changes, the Reality We Experience Changes Too
The diagram below visually explains the understanding of “Human Consciousness” put forward by psychologist Carl Jung.
It is said that the part of human consciousness we can be aware of—the “Conscious Mind”—accounts for only 5%. The remaining 95% is referred to as the “Subconscious”.
In psychology, what takes place in the conscious mind is described as forming the “world of results”, while the causes producing those results are said to lie in the 95% subconscious.
The different problems mentioned earlier are also thought to be rooted in subconscious causes. It may therefore be more effective to turn toward the 95% subconscious rather than the 5% conscious mind in order to address our problems and change our present reality.
Yet the solutions we often apply without thinking in everyday life largely address the conscious mind. When the source of a problem differs from the area we try to influence, it becomes easier to understand why the improvement we expect may not come easily.
So the real question is: what should we do to reach the subconscious and work with it effectively?
